Visualize Somerville 2 (#VisSom2) was a concept to combine technology, activity and community into a large scale interactive installation. This event took place at Brooklyn Boulders, Somerville, a 40,000 sq ft rocking climbing space. Participants used their mobile devices to interact with and control the projections on the walls and the climbers. Imagine 30+ people all controlling different factors of the projections, painting on the walls, and making amazing art collectively. This special event pushed forward how we interact with our space and each other. The event also featured a custom VR system developed by the MIT Media Lab that allowed multiple participants to play in a VR environment which was projected onto one of the climbing walls.
